The Pizza Palace stands as a beloved local treasure, celebrated for its timeless appeal and awesome pizza. Featured on the acclaimed show “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives,” this establishment has earned its reputation for pizza and onion rings since 1961. You cannot get this kind of pizza anywhere else in town.

The location used to only take cash, but now has an ATM option. It is an old-school drive-up and push a call-button to place your order, unless you call in an order ahead of time. If you opt to eat there, be sure to bring some drinks and plenty of napkins because you will be eating in your car.

I always get a sausage and pepperoni pizza here because there are few places where you can get the good crumbled up sausage on a pizza. This is like the sausage you would brown yourself in the skillet. The pizza crust has a little crunch to it and is on the thin side so you don’t feel like you are eating a bunch of bread. The pizza sauce is zesty, just the right amount, and the cheese is abundant enough for it to ooze off the side.

I cannot come here and not get an order of onion rings though. Hands down the best onion rings I’ve ever had! They are made with real onions, the breading isn’t too thick, and they are not greasy. The large order is usually too much to finish, but I can eat these things cold the next day.

Their spaghetti and special meat sauce is so simple tasting but delightful. They serve the sauce smothered on top of the noodles and it’s just something you have to try for yourself. The chef salad is one they don’t skimp on. It has more toppings than actual lettuce which you don’t normally see. It’s loaded with chopped meats, shredded cheese and lots of veggies.

Depending on what is going on in the community and what day it is, you may have to wait a little while for your order. But rest assured, the wait is well worth it! They will bring your order right out to your car and you can enjoy the delicious hot pizza right there.
